Classes Cancelled Tuesday, February 12, 2019

Due to the winter storm moving through Northeast Wisconsin, all classes for Tuesday, February 12, 2019 are cancelled.

Faculty and staff are reminded to consult the Winter Storm Policy and to monitor their own local driving conditions with respect to inclement weather. The University policy recognizes that driving conditions can vary across the region; employees should use their own judgment about whether they can safely travel to campus. The state of Wisconsin requires employees to use vacation, personal holiday or unpaid time for hours lost to inclement weather.

Main Campus Cofrin Library & Computer Labs closing at 4:30 p.m.

The Cofrin Library and General Access Computer (GAC) Labs will close at 4:30 p.m. today (Tuesday, February 12, 2019) due to staffing shortages resulting from winter travel. This includes the University Archives and Area Research Center.

The Library Commons will remain open as a study location. All of the library’s electronic resources are still available 24/7, and a research librarian will be monitoring our online chat service through the normal 8 p.m. service hours.

Postponed: 6:30 Concert – a very small consortium

Due to the impending major winter storm, the 6:30 Concert Series: a very small consortium event at the Weidner Center for Performing Arts in Green Bay has been postponed to April 2, 2019.

Marinette Campus classes and activities are cancelled 4:30 p.m. or later Feb. 7

Marinette Campus classes and activities are cancelled 4:30 p.m. or later Thursday, February 7 due to winter conditions. UW-Green Bay campuses in Green Bay, Manitowoc and Sheboygan remain open as scheduled. Check your email or call a head for individual cancellations. See the severe weather policy for details.

Tri-College Movie Night at 9 p.m. on the Manitowoc Campus is cancelled.

UW-Green Bay Classes Cancelled: Tues. 1/29 Evening – Thurs. 1/31

Due to the extreme temperatures and wind chills forecasted for Northeast Wisconsin, UW-Green Bay is cancelling classes at all four of its campuses Tuesday evening, January 29 through Thursday, January 31, 2019. Cancellations begin at 5 p.m. on the Green Bay campus and 4:30 p.m. at Marinette, Manitowoc and Sheboygan. Classes and full university operations will resume Friday, Feb. 1 at 8 a.m.

University offices will remain open while classes are cancelled. Faculty and staff are reminded to consult the Winter Storm Policy  and to monitor their own local conditions with respect to inclement weather.

During this period, services at the UW-Green Bay campus are being adjusted as follows:

Dining:
Tuesday, January 29: Closing at 6 p.m.
Wednesday, January 30 and Thursday, January 31: 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
Regular hours resume Friday, Feb. 1.

Kress Events Center:
Tuesday, January 29: Closing at 6 p.m.
Wednesday, January 30 and Thursday, January 31: 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
Regular hours resume Friday, Feb. 1.

Tuesday, January 29: Closing at 6 p.m.
Wednesday, January 30 and Thursday, January 31: 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

Reference desk staffing will be limited. Research support via email and our online chat service will be available. All of the library’s digital collection and resources are available through the website and accessible via any internet access.

Homecoming 2019 Events:
The Pep Rally and Alumni Employee Reception events scheduled for Wednesday, January 30 are cancelled. The Battleship event for Thursday, January 31 is rescheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday evening’s Homecoming events are cancelled and will be rescheduled. Homecoming events on Friday and beyond will continue as scheduled.

The safety of our students, faculty and staff is our priority over the next few days. Temperatures are expected to reach as low as -40 degrees. These are extremely dangerous temperatures and should be taken seriously. Students: Please dress appropriately and travel with others as you move across campus to ensure you are safe. Faculty and Staff: Please use your best judgement and caution when traveling to and from campus. Please consult the Winter Storm Policy related to requesting time off and working from home if you do not feel safe or able to travel to campus.
